5 Amazing Ways to Manage Your Emotions Right Away

5 Amazing Ways to Manage Your Emotions Right Away
Written by Aryan Arya
Emotions are the core of human psychology. Since regulating emotions isn’t an exact science; yet, some questions that haven’t been answered to my liking come to mind. For example, do my emotions affect my perception of the event? Or does the event shape my emotions? We often say “my heart aches for you” or “I love you with all my heart” since the heart’s job is to pump blood, how is it possible that love is acquainted with the heart and not the mind? And how does one actually feel the pain of heartbreak? While emotions are confusing, here mentioned below are five ways to manage your emotions, so they don’t interfere with your day to day life.

1.     Cannabis

In the past few years, cannabis has been used to treat various anxiety-related issues and has had positive results. There are numerous benefits of edible cannabis for emotional regulation. Certain strains can give you the confidence you need by calming down your nerves. If you’re anxious and can’t go to sleep, then cannabis can prove to be beneficial, and it reduces stress and anxiety levels and induces calmness.

2.     Express Yourself

Another way you can control your emotions is to express them. While you might not want to share it in words, you can use alternative ways to let it all out. Try to pursue a creative field that can be used as a reasonable mode of catharsis. Try to make music, write poetry, paint, doodle, design, or color etc. While these activities seem random, they can work wonders as emotional outlets.

3.     Take Preemptive Measures

If you know that certain things cause stress, anxiety or anger, then you should try to eliminate them from your life. For example, I hate when I get late because of other people, or when people pass comments on other people, so I try to make sure I leave early and avoid toxic people. Try to take preemptive measures. For example, I get stressed if I oversleep, and so I often change the time on my phone to trick my mind into waking up earlier.

4.     Control Your Response

Sometimes you can’t control the event, and that may lead to high-stress levels. When I feel frustrated, I end up crying and going down a toxic track. In order to make sure I’m not toxic for myself, I meditate and do breathing exercises when anything out of the ordinary happens.

5.     Set Achievable Goals

Another effective way to control your emotions is by setting attainable goals in life. We often have an uncontrollable need to be perfect. This need contributes to frustration and disappointment when we can’t achieve what we set out to attain. Know that no one is perfect at everything, it takes practice. If you want to be good at something, then give yourself the time and space to attain perfection.

The above-mentioned ways have worked wonders for me, and I hope they help you too. If you think there are other effective ways that have worked for you, feel free to mention in the comments below.
