As per the Osun region head, the objective of the 2021 Nigeria self-governance day was to produce a better group of young leaders.
Fakunale secondary and Bowen higher learning place were among the institutions that joined the essay production event, and their participants did well. The Odo state also succeeded in its category.
Before the contest, Osun leaders had asked interested youths to write essays on particular themes.
During the commemoration date, the head of the Osun area was absent. So, his junior replaced him. The occasion was the sixty-one years of Nigeria Independence celebration.

He also added that his department received 700 submissions from above than twenty learning institutions, both public and private. In addition, other interested individuals were from above twenty local state regions.
Many youths gathered during the celebration. They used their ideas to suggest helpful solutions to the challenges encountered in Nigeria.

The 2nd speaker
The other person that talked at the gathering was the activity chairperson.
He even applauded the region head for supporting the growing generation to compete in essay production.
The 3rd speaker
The following person to address the citizens was a general. He felt that the day was exciting. It was bold for the government to plan a remarkable event where many unfavorable activities get encountered.
The speaker also encouraged young people to play their part in society’s growth. Realization, protection, and advancement are what the Nigerian government wants. Leaders and citizens need to work as a team to achieve them.
Another important thing that the general mentioned during his speech is family merits. He narrated that Nigeria’s poor security system can only get rebuilt by restoring family principles. He also emphasized that it is not only the government responsible for security matters. The citizens have a lot to contribute too.
The fourth speaker
The fourth individual to address the event attendees was the first version winner. Like the previous speakers, he ensured to thank the governor for the essay initiative. He said it was a way to prepare young people to become future leaders. The youths get an opportunity to see what the state experiences and then think of ways to improve things.
The fifth speaker
The service head was the fifth person to address people during the 61st Nigeria self-rule moment. He also congratulated the Osun head for supporting the essay activity. He revealed that he had also taken part in a similar contest.
He urged everyone to take the essay production activity as an opener for several other accomplishments.
Essay champions
The moderators checked participants’ performance in every category. The writers with poor quality essays got eliminated. On the other hand, the students who emerged as the winners were excellent writing skills and mastery of their topics.

- The second place went to a learner in Ibadan University.
- The 3rd-place got taken by the Adeleke institution participant.
Essay winners in the tertiary category got money alongside a vehicle.
