What is Configuration Management?
This ensures that all enterprise-owned software and hardware are always known and traceable – any future changes to these assets are known and traceable. You can always think about managing the configuration for an updated record of your technology assets, which is a unique truth. Configuration management is a part of quality control. Without it, the promoter has little or no control over the products they produce: for example, what their status is, where they are in the production process if they can be changed, which is the latest version.
Configuration Management Process – 5 Stages
There are five steps to the configuration management process:
The configuration management plan should describe the specific system and the extent of its use over the life cycle. Settings must also be familiar with the tasks and tasks involved in completing configuration management. Configuration management must be organized in a cost-effective, unexpected and comprehensive manner.
These include splitting work into expected space (components), creating an interesting counting system or reference system, and creating basic configuration settings.
This ensures that the progress of the settings is saved. An important angle is the ability to differentiate the interaction between the mounting elements. This is the basic data for the review and evaluation phases of the change management process.
This allows you to monitor the current state of the configuration, allowing you to identify the configuration elements through their development and functionality.
Review and Evaluation
It can be used to determine if the conversion right matches its needs and configuration data. Searches are performed periodically after steps, steps or steps.
Configuration Management Strategy – Control and Managing Version
When constructing a pipeline, there are many options for configuring source code work. No strategy covers all circumstances. The biggest mistake of a project manager who is done with 70 742 certification is to start planning before devising a strategy for delivering the best product to the final product. There are four main methods to consider and develop, and one about version control and change is configuration management policies. Configuration management rules are required for project management and specialized product management.
When defining product data for each product, the characteristics and quality criteria for each product are determined. Creating a product flow chart shows the relationship and order in which each product is created. Installation information files should be prepared for specific products on this site. Currently, only items for administrative products are available. This information is important at the highest administrative level required by management policy. Initial configuration information was created for this feature. Configuration management rules define the format and composition of files to be stored.
Separate Storage for Each Base
It’s the least complicated thing that could work. This is accepted by default in all our models unless we have specific incentives for a different methodology. This includes using one Git archive for each database. The following basic changes are crucial, easy to run, copy of the database is just a problem with archiving cloning, and configuration information is easy to understand. This is the default assumption that is assumed in all our examples unless we have specified a specific reason for choosing a particular method. This means that only one Git repository is used for each platform. Tracking major changes is easy, getting started is easy, duplicating bases is just a matter of cloning a snapshot and installation files are hard to understand. This principle is used in the Ops setup guide and the current Ops Manager upgrade guide. This is also the principle of the Pivotal Applications Service reference guide.
Multiple Bases with One Storage
Many organizations can use a single Git communication source, but they have many elements that are pooled from a specific VAR directory, credit unit, Git directory, and so on. This methodology is basically the same as a single shot of each of the bases described above, and again the components are stacked from external sources. Different sources can be stacked in different ways. For example, it can be stacked in another dedicated storage space, in the root directory of installation permissions, or even in piles of key documents that were found during installation. This rule can reduce the amount of total installation data and archive settings and resource flow during playback (since important settings are taken from a single axis source). In both cases, there is more effort to manage the setup and internal information we have.
Illustrate Jobs and Duties
All SACM career members need to understand their work and their work. Typical jobs and related functions are:
- Owner Profile: Responsible for the overall CMS policy and development process
- Configuration Manager: Controls the process and is the best administrator for daily CMS operations
- Configuration Module Owners: Responsible for the status and operation of the CI
- Database technical settings: Program design and provision of expertise
Understand What Tools Are Available To Facilitate the Process
Find out what existing devices are available in your organization to collect, store, monitor, and update CMS data. Be aware of which devices meet the identified needs and what conditions with the existing equipment do not seem to be met. Creating a tool repository significantly influences the creation of indispensable data models and the structure of the CMS community. Uses automated data collection tools and help spread the risks that the Data can manually present and maintain. Attempts should be made to identify additional tools that assist in the mechanization process of whether they can be commercialized in their procurement. Although a business case can be complex in design, adjusting three or five planning levels can justify their purchase.
A World without Configuration Control
Sometimes it is easier to understand a concept by understanding its antibodies. What are some issues with managing your settings and what are we trying to avoid? Let’s look further. A developer who implements features typically installs software and uses code. If things go awry, this developer will probably inform the team and manager of their plans to come back for cleaning later – this is just a presentation and will be written in a new place soon.
But then the deadline and task will start back up and the installation steps will be overwritten when the script is first pressed down. It is several years before this is known and new developer hands over the project. These developers are now doing the work and trying to figure out what happened. It is likely that they do not even touch the server settings. Who knows what he would do!
