Fatigue is a problem that many people deal with. Sometimes it happens due to stress at work, and sometimes it’s all about unbalanced time management and too much pressure. Whatever the case, it’s important to point out that the food you eat acts as the fuel that gives you energy and motivation.

Therefore, if you’ve been feeling fatigued, without the energy or enthusiasm, then these foods might be just what you’ve been looking for.

1. Whole foods

Whole foods are those that haven’t been processed, which means their nutritional properties are intact. And even though there’s tremendous comfort in processed foods, it’s also well-known that they can cause anxiety and other health problems. Burgers, fries, candies, canned foods, and boxed meals may be practical, easily available, and delicious, but they’re definitely not the best solution if you’re trying to get rid of fatigue. Instead, opt for legumes, meat, whole grains, and seeds.

2. Water

Everyone knows that drinking water is good for you, but did you know that staying hydrated can also help with fatigue and other types of stress? That’s right, drinking enough water can help you feel more energized, by helping your body function properly. Therefore, even if you don’t like drinking water that much, try to take small sips throughout the day, so you’ll be evenly hydrated.

You should know this – Water is critical for digestion. It prevents constipation and keeps the bowels moving by helping to process soluble fiber and fat. Staying hydrated also helps to eliminate all those pesky toxins from the body, which can damage the gut by causing inflammation and irritation. Drinking more water can also aid with weight loss, which is never a bad thing.

3. Bananas

Bananas are a delicious and versatile fruit, which is why they’re so popular. Research has shown that bananas have so much fuel to offer. Just like energy drinks used by athletes. This is due to the fact that bananas are rich in potassium, vitamins, and fibers, meaning they also contribute to your gut health. An unhealthy gut can have severe health repercussions. That is why it is imperative that you take care of your gut and prevent yeast overgrowth in your digestive system. In addition to helping maintain a healthier gut, bananas contain healthy carbohydrates, which is why they can be used as a natural way to boost energy.

Oh, here’s a fun fact about bananas. Did you that banana candies don’t taste like real bananas? That’s right, you can read more about that here.

4. Nuts

Eating nuts is a great way to give your body enough nutrients without actually consuming a lot in terms of quantity. But if you haven’t eaten them by now, it’s important to learn what is the healthiest nuts to eat, so you can make the best and most informed choices. Almonds, walnuts, hazelnuts, cashews, and Brazil nuts are all rich in protein, fibers, fatty acids, and other valuable vitamins, which means they’ll be of great help if you ever feel fatigued.

If you tend to work long hours, then keep a bowl of nuts nearby, so you can grab a bite whenever you feel tired.

5. Oats

Mostly known as a perfect breakfast option, but oats are so much more than that. In case you’re dealing with blood sugar spikes when eating regular breakfast cereals, then oats are a great and healthy alternative that will keep you full and ready to go about your day. When choosing oats, make sure they’re free of added sugar, and if you want to sweeten the deal, then feel free to add berries, dark chocolate, or bananas.

Oats can also be extremely beneficial for those who have diabetes. The beta-glucan fibers in the oats can help prevent blood sugar levels from rising after a meal. Not only that but the antioxidants, avenanthramides, can increase blood flow. To top it off, oats also improve insulin sensitivity. How about that? That’s cool, ain’t it?

6. Chia seeds

Seeds can be extremely beneficial for your health, and since they’re rich in carbs, fiber, and healthy fats, then it makes perfect sense why they’re also popular when trying to fight fatigue. Just like bananas, chia seeds offer the same benefits as carbohydrate sports drinks, according to small research. So if you dislike these commercial drinks, then feel free to add a spoon or two of chia seeds into your morning smoothie.

You can use raw chia seeds in smoothies. In fact, you don’t even need to grind them to extract their nutrients. Truly, chia seeds are wonderful.

These foods might definitely be of great use if you’re trying to deal with ongoing fatigue. However, it’s also important to make sure that you are generally healthy, especially if the symptoms won’t go away after you change your eating habits. That’s why meal planning is important. Meal planning helps you be more efficient at deciding the quantities of meals you’ll consume, and, of course, by doing this you’ll waste less food and reduce your carbon footprint at the same time.

Finally, keep in mind that living a healthy and balanced lifestyle will definitely help you feel more focused, energized, and motivated.
